To be eligible to run for a seat on the Herkimer Central School Board of Education, candidates must be U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years old, who have lived within the district for at least one straight year before the election, and who can read and write.
Candidates cannot be employees of Herkimer Central School District, hold another public office such as superintendent, clerk, tax collector or librarian, or share a household with a current board member. Board candidates also cannot have been removed from any school district office within the year before the date of appointment or election to the board.
The annual budget vote and Board of Education election for 2024-25 is on May 21, 2024. BOE petitions are due on April 22, 2024.
