Registration will be held in March for students entering kindergarten and pre-kindergarten in the fall of 2017. For more information, call the Elementary School office at 866-8562.
Kindergarten registration will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, March 13, and from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 14.
Parents of students who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, who are residents of Herkimer Central School District, are asked to complete a kindergarten registration form and return it to the main office at Herkimer Elementary School. A complete registration packet will then be mailed to the home. This packet should be completed and brought to registration on March 13 or 14.
Students in the Universal Pre-K program, or BOCES Pre-K program, do not need to come to registration. Registration packets for these students will be sent by their pre-K teachers.
Registration for the Herkimer Elementary School Universal Pre-Kindergarten program will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 16.
Children must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, and be residents of the Herkimer Central School District, to be admitted. There is no cost for the program, and transportation will be provided one way. It is anticipated that two full-day programs will be offered. Lunch will be provided.
Parents must bring proof of residency (such as a utility bill, lease or bank statement), the child’s birth certificate, and custody papers, if applicable. Enrollment is based on random selection, not income eligibility.
Parents who wish to have a child’s name added to the preliminary list and to receive a pre-k packet are asked to call the elementary school office at 866-8562.
