i think that it should not be censored in schools because it has a very good meaning behind it. this book shows you the actuallity of the world an how we treateach other. this shows you the racism an the exile of a certain type of people. not only blacks but the disrespect of women an the disresecpt of new people.

The most probable causes for the banning of the novel Of Mice and Men is the harsh language that runs rampant throughout the course of the novel. Combine that with the domestic violence involving Curly and his wife as well as the racism involving Crooks creates a perfect target for censorship.
I personally find that to be a bunch of terrible and whiny reasons to censor a book. It is my opinion that no books should be censored as all books broaden one's horizons and teach us something new. It is a crime to keep students from learning, and therefor it is a crime to ban books. Banning a book may just as well be the same as burning it. |

I think Of Mice and Men has been censored because of the killing of Lennie and of Curley's wife. I don't think it should of been censored though. Its an educational book and Juniors should read it.
