High school students to pick courses in March

The guidance office is working with junior and senior high school students this month to make plans for the 2017-18 school year.

Counselors will be meeting with students during March to review course selections for next year. Courses will be determined by grades, recommendations and student preference. Information about course selection and placement will be mailed home.

Students in eighth, ninth and 10th grade will have the opportunity to learn more about career and educational opportunities.

On March 13, eighth-graders will participate in the “8 to Great” program at Herkimer BOCES, which introduces students to career and technical education programs. On March 14, freshmen will attend Career Day at Herkimer College. And on March 7, sophomores will visit the Career Technical Center at Herkimer BOCES.

More information about course selection and planning is available from the high school Guidance Office; call 866-2230, ext. 1318.
