2-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 13
To be eligible to enroll in kindergarten in the fall, children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2018, and must be a resident of Herkimer.
Parents are asked to complete the kindergarten registration form provided in the elementary newsletter, and return it to the main office. After the form has been completed, a registration packet will be sent by mail. The completed packet should be brought to registration on March 13.
Students who are already enrolled in Herkimer Universal Pre-K or BOCES Pre-K do not need to attend registration on March 13, but should turn in registration paperwork to their teacher.
2-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 20
Registration for Herkimer’s universal pre-kindergarten program will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Herkimer Elementary School.
Children must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2018, and parents or guardians must be a Herkimer Central School District resident, to be eligible. There is no income eligibility requirement.
There is no cost for the full-day program; enrollment is based on random selection. One-way transportation will be provided, and lunch will be provided during the school day. Pre-k curriculum is aligned with the K-6 program, and is taught by certified teachers.
Parents and guardians will be asked to provide the child’s birth certificate; proof of residency; and any custody papers, if applicable, at the time of registration.
