Students sought as theater Youth Ambassadors

Herkimer High School students can apply to become a Bernadette A. Eichler Youth Ambassador at Broadway Utica to help share their love of the theater.

According to the Broadway Utica website, two students will be chosen from each high school in the region to attend Broadway Utica performances and share their thoughts about each show.

“The goal of the program is to engage area teens and foster their interest in theatre,” the website states. Students’ interests can be in any area of the theatre, including acting, producing, management, choreography, lighting, sound, costume or set design, according to the site.

Herkimer juniors and seniors should get a teacher recommendation and be prepared to submit a short essay explaining why they would like to become a Youth Ambassador if they are interested in this program. Students must be able to attend all five season shows to participate and be able to post to social media during the performances. Additional eligibility guidelines are available online.
