Works from Herkimer Jr./Sr. High School are among those on display at the third annual Student/Teacher Art Show in Little Falls.
Artwork by teacher Heather McCutcheon and her students join pieces from Frankfort, Little Falls, Mount Markham, Owen D. Young, Poland and Richfield Springs school districts. Works are on display at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts at 401 Canal Place through March 3, with an opening reception on Jan. 23.
The annual art show, which kicks off Youth Art Month, is organized by Herkimer County Art Circles, a professional development group of art educators from area schools. Mrs. McCutcheon is chair of the Student/Teacher Art Show and co-chair for New York State Youth Art Month.
Youth Art Month, which is in its 58th year, is a nationwide celebration that recognizes art education as a viable component for the development of future citizens in a global society. It is sponsored by the Council for Art Education, NASCO and AMACO, the National Art Education Association and the New York State Art Teachers Association.
