The Art Student of the Month for December 2025 is 10th grader Blake Mcquiston. Blake is currently in studio in art class, and he was chosen as Student of the Month by Mrs. Zorn because of his positive attitude and his creativity and craftsmanship in the classroom. Blake consistently works hard to perfect his technical drawing skills both in and outside of school. He is a leader in the classroom, and his classmates are often inspired by his creative ideas and positive work ethic. Below is an interview with Blake.

Q. How does it feel to be Art Student of the Month?
A. It feels great to be “Art Student of the Month.” I feel proud of my drawings.

Q. What are your favorite art-making materials to work with, or subjects you like to portray?
A. I enjoy drawing with pen.

Q. Do you have any artworks that you are particularly proud of?
A. My favorite artwork is my centaur drawing. It’s my first serious pen drawing, aside from some doodles.

Q. Where do you find inspiration from when you are creating your own artwork?
A. I find inspiration from a lot of images. I have also done some portrait work for friends.

Q. What are your plans after high school?
A. After high school, I plan on pursuing an art-related career, such as architecture, graphic design or digital art.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers about the art-making process?
A. Most people think they aren’t good, at first. Just try until you get better, then keep going until you’re amazing!
