The Herkimer Elementary School Library Media Center was chosen as “School Library of the Year” for 2018 by the Central New York Library Resources Council.
The awards recognize libraries and programs that stand out or have made a difference in the lives of their patrons.
The elementary Library Media Center was renovated prior to the 2016-17 school year as part of a $10.4 million capital project.
The renovated space, which features colorful carpeting and wheeled tables and chairs that can easily be rearranged into various seating configurations, has become home to the school’s STEM club.
