The exhibition is presented in celebration of Youth Art Month, an annual observance each March that emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages community support for high-quality school art programs.
The show brings together a diverse range of student artwork, highlighting the importance of creative expression in education. From drawing and painting to mixed media and design, the exhibition reflects the technical skills, originality and unique perspectives of students from across the county.
By hosting the exhibition in a public setting, the Herkimer County Youth Art Month Art Show creates an opportunity for patients, families, healthcare professionals and community members to experience the impact of arts education firsthand. The display transforms a community space into a gallery of youthful vision and artistic achievement.
“Youth Art Month reminds us that art is not just an elective – it is an essential part of a well-rounded education,” said participating art educator, Melissa Kirk. “This exhibition celebrates the hard work of our students and invites the community to see the incredible creativity happening in our schools every day.”
The exhibition is free and open to the public during regular lobby hours throughout February and March 2026.
