Herkimer students now serving as ex officio members on district, BOCES school boards


Herkimer Central School District students Sarah Huyck and Landon Ploss will be serving on local school boards as part of a new statewide requirement for all district and BOCES school boards to have at least one ex officio student board member

Huyck will be serving as an ex officio student member on the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Board of Education. Ploss will be serving as an ex officio student member on the Herkimer Central School District Board of Education.

Huyck, Ploss and Herkimer Superintendent Kathleen Carney attended a training event for student board members in the region on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Herkimer BOCES Gateway Center.
