Learning isn’t the only thing that’s gone remote at Herkimer High School. Thanks to band director Terry Gordon, two HHS musicians have also found a way to honor the fallen for Memorial Day while maintaining social distancing.
Gordon recorded students Zachary Williams and Kimberly Wood playing “Taps” for Memorial Day.
“We always have the HS band lead the Memorial Day parade and then play for the ceremony at Myers Park, including a couple of our trumpeters playing Taps,” Mr. Gordon explained. “Since all that is not happening this year, we thought we would honor the fallen in this way.”
