Ninth grader selected as Art Student of the Month for March 2024

The Art Student of the Month for March is ninth grader Elijah. Elijah was chosen as Student of the Month by Mrs. Zorn because of his work ethic and his willingness to challenge himself creatively in the classroom. Elijah is a role model in the classroom. He consistently comes up with original project ideas, and he always uses his class time well. Below is an interview with Elijah.

A. I love working with pencils and colored pencils, and the subject I like to portray the most is nature.

A. For my artwork, my favorite is the aptly named “Mars” drawing.

Q. Where do you find inspiration from when you are creating your own artwork?

A. When creating my own artwork, I find inspiration from great artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci.

Q. What are your plans after high school?

A. After high school, I don’t plan on pursuing an art-related career, but I have always loved creative hobbies, such as cooking and writing, so I do plan on continuing to create art.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers about the art-making process?

A. My advice is to test out color combinations and art-making techniques before adding them to your artwork, so that you can be proud of your final achievements.
