The Art Student of the Month for April is Sierra DiBrango! Sierra is in seventh grade and was chosen as Student of the Month by Mrs. Zorn because of her outstanding work ethic and her role as a positive influence in the classroom. Sierra consistently challenges herself to come up with interesting project ideas and always uses her class time to the best of her ability. Below is an interview with Sierra.
Q. How does it feel to be Art Student of the Month?
A. It feels amazing to be “Art Student of the Month.” I feel like I really gave it my all this quarter.
Q. What are your favorite art-making materials to work with?
A. There are so many, but I would have to say paint is my favorite material. I love to blend colors to create something cool.
Q. Do you have any artworks that you are particularly proud of?
A. Yes. At home, I have an underwater scene painting I’m proud of. It has lots of sea creatures and treasure chests.
Q. Do you plan on taking more art classes when you are in high school?
A. Yes, I am definitely going to take lots of art classes because I love to make art!
Q. Do you have any advice for your classmates about the art-making process?
A. I would advise my classmates to focus, imagine what you want to make, visualize the process and take your time to execute it. Never give up!
