American Red Cross Blood Drive at Herkimer exceeds goal

Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Herkimer CSD a week ago on Friday, Sept. 30!

The results are in, and we collected 122% of our goal with 27 donors – potentially saving up to 81 lives!

The Herkimer CSD National Honor Society hosts three American Red Cross Blood Drives each year. Student coordinators work the blood drive throughout the day. For the Sept. 30 event, the National Honor Society senior student coordinators were Jacob Lamanna and Joshua Leskovar. Student Lilliana Langdon, Herkimer National Honor Society president, also works with the Red Cross on community blood drives in Herkimer and the Honor Society drives.

Caroline Lampert, who is the Herkimer National Honor Society advisor and teaches U.S. history and government and A.P. U.S. history said the following about the Red Cross blood drives:

“These events epitomize the qualities of NHS membership – leadership, service, and character – as our 40 11th and 12th grade members recruited donors, worked the blood drive and/or donated blood themselves.”
