Students who are well-nourished are shown to have increased problem-solving abilities, memory, verbal fluency and creativity. The federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, which regulates school meals, ensures they are low in fat and provide the recommended dietary allowances for calories, protein, vitamins A and C, iron and calcium.
The Herkimer Central School District is committed to providing student access to nutritious meals each school day. Read the full Meal Charge and Prohibition Against Meal Shaming Plan here. Learn more about how to apply for free and reduced-price meals.
To ensure that all students have access to school meals, elementary students can eat “breakfast after the bell,” and students at the Jr./Sr. High School can visit the “grab and go” breakfast station, just inside the main entrance.
Menus are subject to change. Meal services are provided by Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for nutritional information, or questions. Menus are posted to this page during the school year.
