Herkimer Central School District third grade students recently wrote their own short songs in music class to along with two March themes – Music in our Schools Month and March Madness.
The songs students created with Herkimer Elementary School vocal music teacher William Pegg were entered into a March Madness style competition at the school dubbed “Music March Madness,” and elementary students were able to choose their favorite songs.
Third grade teacher Maria Sekel’s class won the competition and received a golden recorder as a trophy.
