The artworks of about 30 Herkimer students in grades 2-12 are part of a virtual show celebrating Herkimer County Youth Art Month.
Art teachers Heather WheelerStapf, Leah Zorn, and Heather McCutcheon also participated in the show which includes works from eight schools in the county. To see the virtual show, click here. Each student artist will receive a certificate and a small Youth art month prize.
Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. The month provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.
