Juniors and seniors participate in workshop that focuses on their strengths

In February, juniors and seniors participated in a series of Excellence in Education workshops presented by Daneli Partners. During the workshop, the presenters gave each student an assessment that helped them find their top five strengths (out of 34).

Marketing director Katie Drake said the assessment is a great tool to give students a way to speak positively about themselves and their classmates.

“This interactive leadership training helps students introspectively learn about leadership, understand their innate talents, how their strengths have helped them accomplish their goals in the past, and most importantly, how to use their strengths to aim toward future goals,” she said.

High school counselor Courtney Bishop said some students are wary of the future because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and school leaders wanted a way for students to feel empowered as they look towards the future.

“The workshops were designed to help students maximize their potential by recognizing skills they possess and utilizing their strengths for success, both now and in the future,” she said.

“It was great to see students be able to put their strengths into words and see the value in them.”
