Law enforcement finds student threats to be unfounded

Local law enforcement has determined that two non-specific threats made by students at Herkimer Jr./Sr. High School are not credible. After the threats were made, a teacher immediately followed district protocol and alerted the school resource officers and the Herkimer Police Department.

An investigation by law enforcement determined there was no credible threat to Herkimer schools, which continue to operate on a regular schedule.

The district and law enforcement will enforce the Code of Conduct as it relates to the incidents.

The safety and well-being of all Herkimer students and staff is a foremost priority, and every effort will be made to maintain a safe and secure school environment.
