Morgan Rivers graduated from Herkimer High School in 2017.

What’s your favorite high school memory?

Meeting friends — I still talk to a lot of people I know from high school. Doing my internship (at Herkimer Veterinary Associates) helped a lot too — and being able to take my college credits in high school was great.

What have you been doing since you graduated?

I applied to SUNY Delhi for a Veterinary Science Technology degree. I just graduated in May and am working as a veterinary technician at Herkimer Veterinary Associates. I’m also in the process of getting my bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Services Administration from SUNY Canton.

Did anyone from Herkimer Central School District influence you in becoming who you are today?

Mrs. Smith really helped me out, especially with the college application process, and so did Mrs. Scalise.

What advice do you have for current Herkimer High School students?

Don’t be afraid to take chances. I was afraid to leave home, but it was the only option for me to get the degree I needed, and it ended up being one of the best things I could have done. And, take advantage of everything high school has to offer.
