Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today our school administration learned of a possible threat of school violence at the Jr./Sr. High School. We immediately notified the Herkimer Police Department and SRO who are continuing to work on the investigation.
School safety is on everyone’s mind, especially in the wake of recent and past school tragedies. We must be constantly aware and cautious. I want you to know that we will treat any threat as serious and immediately reach out to law enforcement to investigate. We will do everything in our power to keep our students, staff, and community members safe.
In an abundance of caution, we will increase our police presence throughout the week.
Although the details of today’s event are confidential, we ask that you do not speculate on social media. This only heightens our children’s unease in these difficult times. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me. I will be happy to speak with you personally.
