Sixth-graders honor veterans with window display

Signs in a window read "thank you veterans"

Ms. Turnbull’s sixth-grade students found a special way to pay tribute to veterans this Veterans Day.

For many years, Mr. Sheldon has given a Veterans Day presentation for all sixth-grade students. Typically, the sixth grade joins together to hear Mr. Sheldon’s presentation in the auditorium.

Because of the pandemic, the sixth-graders weren’t able to do that this year, so Mr. Sheldon recorded his presentation for students to watch during class. But the students still found a way to say “thank you” to Mr. Sheldon and to all veterans

Students made stained glass patriotic stars out of tissue paper and construction paper. On the star, they wrote the names of veterans they knew, including Mr. Sheldon. These stars are hanging in the window above the main entrance to the high school, along with a thank-you message for our veterans.
