Q. What date did you start in the new role?

A. Aug. 14, 2025.

Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?

A. I’ve worked with preschool and grade-school children, as well as my latest position as teaching assistant in a 12:1:1 Sped [Special Education] room with the 11th/12th grade class.

Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?

A. I’m most excited about working with the younger students once again and becoming part of a new team of educators.

Q. When did you first know you wanted become a teaching assistant and what made you feel that way?

A. I started working within the education field when my children were young. It was a great schedule fit for us. As I moved throughout the various assistant positions, I realized that I love working with children, and that became my permanent choice.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?

A. I’ve heard great things about the administration and work family. I was impressed with the immediate welcoming vibe that I had with the interviews for this position. I think the ability to create a welcoming, cohesive team is what makes Herkimer CSD special. That in turn creates an amazing work environment for staff as well as learning environment for the students.

Q. How does it make you feel to now be working at Herkimer CSD after previously going to school here?

A. It’s exciting to see all of the things that have changed since I was a Herkimer student.
