Stay healthy and safe this flu season

Flu is a contagious disease that begins in the fall and continues through the winter. During the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting against flu is more important than ever, especially for health care workers and other essential workers, as well as people at risk of severe illness from COVID-19 or flu.

The New York State Department of Health recommends parents and students get the flu vaccine to protect against flu. Parents can use the Centers for Disease Control’s Vaccine Finder to find a location near you where flu shots are available.

Students who are ill with flu symptoms (fever or chills, body aches, cough, sore throat, headache, runny or stuffy nose, fatigue, stomach problems and diarrhea) should stay home from school. Please review the district’s Return to School Protocol to review when it is safe for your child to return to school after an illness.
