As our students prepare to “Return to Learn,” we wanted to share some updates and reminders with you about the start of the school year on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Schedules
The Jr./Sr. High School day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. Students in Grades 7-12 have been divided into two “cohorts.” (Sixth-graders will attend school every weekday in a single “cohort.”)
Therefore, on Tuesday, Sept. 8, Cohort B will come to school, and will return in person on Friday, Sept. 11.
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Cohort A will come to school (due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday) and will return in person on Thursday, Sept. 10.
There are separate schedules for our juniors and seniors who attend CTE classes at BOCES. The BOCES CTE school day runs from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with a bus provided at the high school to get to the BOCES building. Boarding will be between 8:15-8:30 a.m.
Juniors will be at BOCES Mondays and Tuesdays, and at the high school on Wednesdays. Thursdays and Fridays will be remote learning days for juniors.
Seniors will have remote learning Mondays and Tuesdays, and will be at the high school for a half day on Wednesdays. They will be at BOCES on Thursdays and Fridays.

Before returning to school, it is the responsibility of each student and their family to confirm that they are not at risk of transmitting illness.
Students should be wearing a mask before entering the building. Three separate entrances will permit students into the building, depending on grade level and other factors.
Students in Grades 6-7 will enter the building from the entrance nearest the cafeteria. Students in Grades 8-12 who ride the bus will enter from the rear bus loop, near the library. Students in Grades 8-12 who self-transport to school will use the front main entrance.
A teacher will check each student’s temperature before they enter the classroom. Once in the classroom, students should take their seats right away. Breakfast and lunch will be delivered first and last periods, respectively. Classroom teachers will direct students to submit their meal orders via a Google Form.

Teachers will also provide students with a link to a Google Form to be used to request bathroom breaks. Each student will be escorted out of the classroom and to the restroom, one at a time, to ensure social distancing and safety. While the library is not open for browsing, students can reserve library books via a Google Form.
