Q. What date did you start in the new role?
A. Sept. 1.

Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?
A. I’ve worked with kids in many different settings. I’ve worked at summer camps, nannied and substitute-taught. These past experiences have led me to want to work at Herkimer Elementary as an LTA.

Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?
A. As an LTA, I get to work with kids of various ages. I get to go to several different classrooms and grade levels. I also get to work with kids in smaller groups or one-on-one which allows me to build relationships with them.

Q. When did you first know you wanted to become a teacher and what made you feel that way?
A. I’ve always loved working with kids and have loved the idea of teaching since I was a kid. I would say my motivation to become an LTA started when I started subbing. I realized how much I love being able to work with the kids in a school setting.

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?
A. Herkimer CSD is very tightly knit. Everyone is very involved, friendly and helpful. They are a great team to be a part of, are very involved in their community and have amazing kids to work with.
