Q. What date did you start in the new role?

A. Sept. 8, 2026.

Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?

A. For the past five years, I have been a sixth grade math teacher in the Syracuse City School District.

Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?

A. The students and my coworkers! The kids have been excited to learn, and my team has been incredibly supportive as I figure out my new role!

Q. When did you first know you wanted to become a teacher and what made you feel that way?

A. I had an amazing sixth-grade social studies teacher who held us to high expectations while genuinely caring about each of us. I learned so much that year as a result. She inspired me to want to become a teacher myself!

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?

A. The strong sense of community! People show up for one another, offering support and encouragement. Since stepping into this new role, I have felt incredibly welcomed and supported, and I am so grateful to be part of such a caring community!
