Q. What date did you start in the new role?

A. Sept. 8, 2026.

–

Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?

A. My journey is a bit different than most. I adore children, and my life goal is to have a big family of my own someday. For some silly reason, this did not make me think to go into the education route, but rather I went to college for business. More excitingly, I worked in Disney World, two separate times, where I was able to create magical moments for children and families. When I moved back home to my cubicle job, I missed life surrounded by childlike wonder and decided to start substituting at Herkimer Elementary. Needless to say, I loved it and came back in a more-steady position this year 🙂

Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?

A. The kids! Nothing brings me more joy than seeing their smiles, helping them through something difficult, watching them learn a new skill, etc. Every day I’m able to help is a day well spent.

–

Q. When did you first know you wanted to become a teacher and what made you feel that way?

A. I’m learning as I go! No point planning out my entire life, just living in the moment as it happens. I am very happy and blessed to be in my current role.

–

Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?

A. It’s close-knit, family-like structure. Everyone knows everyone and does their best to support one another.

–

Q. Are you also a Herkimer CSD alumni? If so, what year did you graduate?

A. Yes! I graduated in the class of ’21.

–

Q. How does it make you feel to now be working at Herkimer CSD after previously going to school here?

A. Honestly, sometimes I feel like a kid myself as I work beside my previous teachers/staff from my childhood, but I am also honored and happy to be a part of the team. Full circle.
